We invest into businesses and we support ’buy outs or buys ins’ and straight forward acquisitions:

No Start Ups

We invest in established, profitable businesses – sorry we don’t fund start-ups or early stage businesses

Historic Earnings

Robust historic earnings – we need businesses making a profit, even if it is only a modest one!

Venture Deals

As with all venture deals, we back individuals so a solid, driven & proven management team or business owners are essential (even if we haven’t recruited them all yet !)

Management Buy Ins

We do look further afield, such as supporting management buy ins & buy outs or retirement sales


A clear competitive advantage and/or a significant opportunity to exploit is a necessity – we’ve rarely seen “me too” strategy succeed.

What our deals look like?

As all deals are different, its difficult to say what a normal deal looks like. However, we always take equity in our investments and don’t look at anything less than ’a significant minority’. Generally we invest our money as loanstock and we ask that our initial capital is repaid as quickly as possible. We’re happy to look at follow on funding rounds or indeed leading larger funding initiatives.

We always join the board of companies we invest in and spend an agreed amount of time working with the business in return for a nominal non-executive director’s fee.

  • We are a private office investor. We only invest our own money and take a long-term view of our investments
  • We don’t pay thumping big introducer fees. However, we’re not mugs and appreciate the need to have a strong network of advisers to work with – particularly those operating in the SME sector and those with regional representation.
  • Hence if you’ve got a deal and think we might be a good fit with your client, there’s always something we can do to keep everyone happy. Get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
